West Cornwall Golf Club is probably one of the finest links courses in Cornwall. The course was established in 1889, making it the oldest Golf club in the Duchy and one that has won much acclaim. Peter Alliss is an honorary life member who always speaks very highly of the course and the warm welcome all can expect to receive.
The course has a magnificent setting and has been moulded around the natural contours of the sand dunes that form part of the Hayle Estuary and Porth Kidney Sands. There are panoramic views from almost every hole with St. Ives Bay and Godrevy Lighthouse forming a memorable backdrop to this gem of a links.
West Cornwall is nearly always played in conditions that can range from a light breeze to a strong wind and is a true test of golf for golfers of all abilities. The course has undergone many improvements in recent years under the watchful eye of our Head Green keeper and his team.
Thanks to its sand base the drainage of the course is excellent and allows it to be played all year round with no winter tees or greens.
Visitors and societies are made more than welcome with discounted green fees and packages to include breakfast, lunch and dinner available.
A well equipped Pro Shop near the first tee and a welcoming, ambient bar allow members and visitors alike a pleasant experience. The restaurant can also cater for anything from bar snacks to a-la carte. -
St Ives is a seaside town, civil parish and port in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The town lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing. The decline in fishing, however, caused a shift in commercial emphasis and the town is now primarily a holiday resort. St Ives was incorporated by Royal Charter in 1639.

In late 1990 Merlin acquired the very run down Royal Cinema St Ives. Urgent action was taken and with some hard work was also converted to provide customers with three screens. By 1997 admissions had increased at both sites rising from less than 60,000 to over 130,000 per year.
Last year the cinema had some external work carried out and with the bright blue and red there is no mistaking it is part of the Merlin group. -

The Eden Project was built in Cornwall in a disused clay mine, transforming it into a rich, global garden where people can learn about nature and get inspiration about the world around them.
But we do much more than offer a memorable day out in Cornwall. Eden is an educational charity and social enterprise and much of our energy goes into:
running transformational social and environmental projects on our doorstep and around the world
creating unforgettable learning experiences for students
putting on fantastic arts, theatre and music events
creating stunning gardens as well as doing valuable research into plants and conservation
making sure we run our operations in the greenest possible way. -
The Royal Cornwall Museum
Over the years generous benefactors have donated an amazing array of objects, broadening the collection so that it covers for example Egyptology (hence our famous unwrapped mummy), fine art and world cultures, as well as classical Greek and Roman objects. The Rashleigh Gallery contains a world-famous collection of minerals, the core of which was amassed by Philip Rashleigh of Menabilly at the end of the 18th century. It includes the largest specimen of liroconite ever found, and a large gold nugget found at Perranarworthal. The Museum’s decorative arts collection and old master drawings are also very strong, the latter chiefly due to Alfred de Pass, another generous benefactor. - total distance: 97 miles (156 km)
