The main reason to visit Amsterdam was a restful stop over. Majority of my time was spent inside CitizenM hotel. It was amazing to have this little break that ease the pain of the 10 hours long haul flight from YVR to AMS. This arrangement work out a lot better than the non-stop flying all the way to Barcelona!

Spent five amazing days in Barcelona. Just love the city. I was a bit concern during the planning stage because there has been a lot of scary warning about not just pick pocket and violent robbery. I was lucky that my hotel was in safe and quiet area that I did not experience those issues at all. I did walk around in late evening (sometimes even pass 11pm) and felt very safe and comfortable. I was so fortunate to have so much time to relax and truly enjoy that city. I am glad that I did not over plan my activity in Barcelona. I have never traveled any city where I have allowed me to take daily nap and resume traveling till late evening.

Frankfurt is not really exciting, but I have found a sense of comfort with this city. When it is sunny with clear blue sky, it is actually rather pretty. What I really love is its convenient transportation hub. The airport is big but manageable. Actually felt very safe sleeping overnight there too ;-)

The main reason I pick Mainz was only because of one name Gutenberg. Some of my friend may remember there was a printer with this name gutenberg ;-)
Just because of that geeky reason, it attracted me to check out Mainz and found just 20 minutes s-bhan ride away from Frankfurt, there is such a amazingly pretty little town. The morning local market vibrant and fill with real locals and some tourist to shop of fruit, veggie, cheese and bread. I was very lucky to be able to try the most juicy and tasty meatloaf bun in that open air market.
Since this town is so close to Frankfurt, after the visit, there was still enough time to go back to Frankfurt to witness the war-zone like Zara during Friday evening shopping madness. -
Really love Munich when it is sunny! Such a beautiful city with the most amazing park right in the middle of the city.
A few must see/do:
1. Walk up a LOT of stairs to top St. Peter's Church for the best view of the city centre. If you are lucky and visiting in a clear day, you can even see Olympic tower and The Alps.
2. Chill and mingle with others who just happen to share the same table as yours in a beer garden. You don't have to drink beer to enjoy good company and meeting new people -
Summer palace of the Bavarian kings. Relaxing and beautiful place to visit. Must prepared to spend at least half a day there because it is so large and has so much to see. The inside of palace is not as that pretty, but the royal garden and the smaller residence and charming little church is amazing! .

Spent five days is the beautiful city of Paris. It was amazingly easy to travel around even with my extremely limited French. Parisian were actually pretty friendly. I was also very lucky to bump into a fellow Canadian originally from Newfoundland who kindly helped me to order from a French menu. Check the pictures below!

Using Terminal 5 first time. Actually much better than the old BA terminal

Arrived late at night in Queensferry (a small town close to Edinburgh and it was closer to the airport). Start my next day bright and early with haggis & blood sausage as breakfast! Yum yum. Visited Edinbrugh Castle and royal mile. Really really glad I have taken a side trip and visit the HMY Britannia.

Took short rail (about 2 hours) from Glasgow to Stranraer to take Stranraer Ferry to Belfast. This is way better than taking flight. The scenario along the train and ferry was beautiful. The extra time was just relaxing!

Back to Belfast and missed by stop at Titanic Quarter and accidentally visit Ikea. Still a lot of fun! Met another Canadian who has been living in Belfast for a couple year during my long bus ride back to the city centre. One of the joyful thing of solo travel, you ended chatting and talking with a lot more people.
