After boarding our ancient ship to cross over the Mediterranean we reached land at Genova just when the sun was coming up and massive traffic started to rise on the roads, so it was no-way to stop to have our breakfast in town. Instead, we headed to the first petrol station to have our first and long awaited Italian cappuccino :-) Miraculously, they serve you the best quality cafes under any sort of circumstances :-) Lucky for us :-)

Anyhow, we made our next stopover in Verona, the city of Romeo&Julia. Had lunch at a local restaurant where our waitress turned out to speak 5 different languages, among them was Hungarian too :-) We liked the city, it's gorgeous, the only downside was that we crossed during high-season when one can't take a step without being crowded by thousands of other tourists...

We had a direct flight from Madrid to NY and arrived in the evening which helped us overcome quickly the 6-hour time difference and we dived right in to explore the Big Apple the next morning! Had a super time during those 4 days and while I fell in love with the city all over again, K. had to work on himself to release his reservation toward the city that he had - a lot more than I can remember he had the last two occasions when we were there - but by the end, he cut loose and I could sense he had just as much of a fun time in the city as me :))

The mystical place for those who know it...
Cape Cod - the ultimate Heaven for us which is a stunning peninsula with two islands (Martha's vineyard and Nantucket) and to which we're both attached in so many ways. Having used to work there for a whole summer we fell in love with the place right away which wasn't too difficult ;-) The only flipside, however, that we had almost zero time to enjoy it while living there as we usually worked up to 70-75hours a week. We both knew that we'd return to this phenomenal place one day to re-discover the whole peninsula and enjoy it instead of 'work it'. It all happened exactly 10 yrs ago. Now that we went back it seemed like a total flashback, jammed with fantastic memories at every corner and we were just so so grateful, firstly, that we had the fortune to get to know this wonderful place at such a young age and secondly, for the fact that we could actually go back to re-live moments of one of the most fantastic summers we've had together! We fully appreciated the beauty and the incomparable ambiance of the Cape during those 4 days!!! -
Spent the last day at the New Yorker hotel where we were accommodated 10 yrs ago with the work and travel program for the duration of our orientation but it was a big disappointment. Although it's a more expensive hotel in an art deco style bldg, they had almost zero service to provide for the guests to feel comfortable. And the size of the room was the typical teeny-tiny new york 'hole type' with no view at all. Our previous hotel was 100 times better with a fantastic view and we even got two bicycles for a whole day and yummy breakfast every morning! It was the 'Element by Westin Times Square' that we'd highly recommend for every travelers in NY city!
All in all, we spent the day walking around in the city then went up to the top of Rockefeller Center to enjoy as the sun sets over the Big Apple! It was fantastic! And if you'd ask us which top of the bldgs worth more going up, then we'd definitely choose Top of the Rock!!! -
from Madrid I flew directly back to Hungary much awaited to give a huge hug for D. again!!!
-
D. was waiting for me impatiently with my parents at the airport! It was really heartwarming to see and hug him again and listen to all his stories on the way home to my hometown! we spent there a couple of more days before setting off for yet another big road trip with my family to get, from home to home, to Madrid!

It was nice to get home finally after almost 2 months on constant move. Always a realization too that how much we all still love living here. Nice to be back enjoying the rest of the summer ;-)

At the very end of the summer we had one more 'bonus trip' per say, when we made it home for one more time with Dani to enjoy couple of pleasant autumn days that Hungary has been having this year. What's more it was actually the very first time that only the two of us flew home together but as experienced traveler as Dani is - he's flown more than 20 times already in his past three year :) - hence it was no problem flying alone with him, we enjoyed it both ways :)
