May 20: Arrive in Port au Prince and transfer to guesthouse. Special Welcome Dinner in the evening to meet our local partners.

May 21: Tour of historic Port au Prince to see the damage the earthquake left behind and the remains of this capital city. Visit local efforts focused on rebuilding the
infrastructure of Port au Prince. Make a stop at the local market to get a feel for the real Port au Prince. Return to guesthouse in the evening for dinner and overnight. - Sunday, May 22, 2011

May 22: Transfer to Fondwa in the morning. Visit the Association of the Peasants of Fondwa. The Association of the Peasants of Fondwa (APF) is a grassroots organization that has worked hand in hand with the peasants of Fondwa, Haiti since 1988. APF envisions a new rural Haiti - one which is populated with sustainable and holistically developed communities that actively promote the civil and human rights of the poor. Meet representatives from APF and get an introduction to the project including a visit to the bakery, lunch in the income-generating restaurant, a tour of the medical clinic, and a visit to the school. Return to guesthouse in the evening.

May 23: Spend the morning volunteering at Fatima House Orphanage and exploring more income-generating activities that could be implemented on site to help move the orphanage in the direction of sustainability. Enjoy lunch with the children. In the afternoon visit the goat and pig programs run by APF and learn about the Commercial Center for Ti Machann (women street vendors). Return to guesthouse in the after-noon.

May 24: Transfer to Jacmel in the morning and meet with representatives from
Fonkoze. Fonkoze is Haiti’s Alternative Bank for the Organized Poor. They are the largest micro-finance institution offering a full range of financial services to the rural-based poor in Haiti. Fonkoze is committed to the economic and social improvement of the people and communities of Haiti and to the reduction of poverty in the
country. Spend the day with Fonkoze visiting recipients of micro-loans. Meet local Haitians who have worked one-on-one with Fonkoze and see how effective a small loan can be in empowering not only an individual or a family, but an entire
community. Check into guesthouse in the evening for dinner and overnight. - Wednesday, May 25, 2011

May 25: Continue working with Fonkoze throughout the day. Visit the Iron Market and local sights in Jacmel in the afternoon. Return to guesthouse in the evening.

May 26: Travel to Bassin Bleu in the morning. Bassin Bleu is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Haiti boasting 3 deep blue pools linked by spectacular waterfalls.
Explore this natural wonder, enjoy lunch and relaxation time and return to Jacmel in the afternoon. Visit artisan workshops in Jacmel – the handicraft capital of Haiti!
