Phuket (ภูเก็ต) , pronounced "pu-ged", is Thailand's largest island.

It is 48 km in length, 21 km at its widest, and is in Southern Thailand, on the west-facing Andaman Sea coastline, suspended from the southern tip of Phang Nga Province by a pair of short but substantial road bridges.It's size is similar to Singapore.

The island is connected to mainland Thailand by two bridges

          A great view of Phuket Town, the southern part of the island, and some of the offshore islands, can be obtained by going to the top of Kao Rang Hill, on the city's northwest.

            Phuket's the biggest and most important buddhist temple in Phuket.

            It enshrines the gilt statues of monk-hero Luang Pho Chaem and his assistant Luang Pho Chuang, both much revered by local people because of their roles in quelling the miner rebellion in 1876.

              It is in the southernmost point : Laem Promthep (Brahma's Cape).

              It is the most famous view point in Phuket at sunset.

              The top part of this cape is plain having a high cliff along the edge of the sea. From this point you can look out to the sea and islands nearby.

              Many tourists come here particularly in the evening just to see the sun setting below the horizon.
