Update: They have been shuttered by the city for not having a proper liquor license, hard to believe. Two doors down from the Pho Cafe and next door to the Rambutan. From the guys who brought us Covell in Los Feliz. Plenty of great beer selections with some wine choices. You can order from Rambutan if you'd like and they usually make a special just for the bar. -

If you're looking for a lo-fi version of Robata and need a ramen fix this the place. Tucked away in a strip mall along Ventura Blvd the service is top notch and everything was fresh and tasty. Check out the Cold Ramen with the sesame sauce, it's really good. -

Gastronomico (7:30 pm)
Came over here to check out the Gastro Buses new digs next to the Drawing Room. Food was fresh and tasty as expected. The space is clean but had more of a lunch deli vibe than a sit down for dinner spot right now. I had the Ecuadorian Pulled Pork sammie w/heirlom tomato salad and Liz had the Steak w/green salad. No alcohol here so I tried the Dragonfruit lemonade which I liked. Desert was a slice of the banana upside down cake which we got on the house because she said it was the last slice and it wasn't as big as the other slices. -

Found this place while browsing Yelp for some new finds around the hood. I have probably driven past here thousands of times and never noticed there was a restaurant. Finally caught a glimpse the other day of their new sign draped over the awing outside. It's not fancy and the service is pretty slow but it's BYOB and all the food was tasty and fresh. Good little find and Christina Hendricks and her husband were there. -

Soon to be called Community. The lamb sandwich was excellent and the pastrami was pretty good (the rye bread was really tasty). Even got a little sampler of their salads. Jennifer and Virginia are very nice and helpful. -
